Tesla Model 3 2019

The Tesla Model 3 is certainly the most anticipated electric car in the world. In France and Europe, the first customer deliveries of Model 3 began in February 2019.

The Design of the Tesla Model 3

The design of the Model 3 was officially revealed on March 31st. Aesthetically, it takes the codes of the Model S while marking its difference with specific characteristics.

Front view, the Model 3 is reminiscent of Porsche’s design. One of the features of the car is its huge glass roof that is made in one piece, from the windshield to the rear of the car. It provides good brightness but also better aerodynamics.

The interior of the Tesla Model 3 is radically different from the other vehicles on the market because of its minimalism. The on-board instrumentation boils down to a huge touch screen.

In terms of roominess, Tesla Model 3 offers enough space to accommodate 5 adult passengers. However, we do not yet know precisely the volume of the trunk.

The Tesla Model 3 will offer two autonomies: 345 km for the “standard” version, 420 km for the mid-range and 530 to 560 km (WLTP) for the “extended range” version, which will be sufficient for the majority of customers know that they will also benefit from Tesla’s Supercharger Rapid Charging Network.

If we do not know the capacity of the batteries of the Model 3, the autonomies announced by the manufacturer allow to deduce a capacity of 50 to 60 kWh for the entry-level version, about 65 kWh for the “mid -Range “and from 70 to 75 kWh for the” extended range “version.

We know that the battery of the Model 3 will never go up to 100 kWh, the location dedicated to it does not allow to accommodate such a large battery. Tesla reserves this type of battery capacity to its high-end vehicles, the Model S and the Model X.

Tesla Model 3 Refill

Tesla Model 3 RefillLike Model X and Model S, the Tesla Model 3 will be able to access the manufacturer’s supercharger network. The connector will not be the same as in the United States.

For Europe, Tesla chose to equip its Model 3 with the Combo CCS standard for fast charging.

The connector, which now equips some of the manufacturer’s stations, can also be used to recharge the car on the terminals of third-party operators such as Ionity, Sodetrel or Fastned. In terms of charging time, the Model 3 can recover up to 270 km of autonomy in 30 minutes of charging, a full recharge in about an hour.

For slow or accelerated charging, the Tesla Model 3 has a type 2 connector. In Europe, it will be equipped with a Type 2 plug and should be able to recharge Chademo quick plugs with a specific adapter.

The Performance of the Model 3

Performance of the Model 3

The Model 3 enjoys great performances. In its “Long Range” version, it drops 0 to 100 km / h in 4.8 seconds and reaches up to 230 km / h maximum speed.

In its “Performance” version, the Model 3 reaches 250 km / h and drops the 0 to 100 km / h in 3.5 seconds.

Both versions are delivered in all-wheel drive (Dual Motor) with two electric motors distributed between the front and rear axles.

For the time reserved for the US market, the two-wheel-drive version (mid-range) is configured in propulsion and allows a 0 to 100 km shot in 5.6 seconds.

The South African published the details in a series of tweets, confirming both the double-electric model of the four-stroke Model 3 and the “Performance” version that will use a similar drive system.
