Battery with long battery life
With its 6.5 inch screen in 21: 9 format, the Sony Xperia 1 is a smartphone in length. And as with the Sony Xperia 10 and 10 Plus, this poses some problems in terms of ergonomics.
The height of the terminal prevents smooth use of one hand, even if the narrowness of the smartphone can cover its entire width with the thumb.
Unfortunately, the volume buttons, located on the right edge, are a bit high and unlocking, a little low.
The best-positioned button is finally the fingerprint sensor also located on the right edge. Rather responsive and reliable, it falls naturally under the finger.
The Sony Xperia 1 ships the most powerful chip on the market today, the Snapdragon 855, consisting of a Kryo 485 core clocked at 2.84 GHz, 3 Kryo 485 at 2.42 GHz and 4 Kryo 485 at 1.8 GHz.
The whole is supported by 6 GB of RAM. An arrangement to run Android 9.0 without any problem. Juggling applications is child’s play on Sony’s smartphone.
Like the Xperia XZ3 released a little less than a year ago, this Sony Xperia 1 offers a very average autonomy.
Despite its accumulator of 3300 mAh, the smartphone only held 13 h 35 min during our SmartViser autonomy protocol.
This corresponds to about two days of autonomy in real conditions. An honest result, but far from the standards of competition.
Interface and OS
As usual, Sony does not mess up the Android 9.0 interface on its smartphones. So we find the operating system in its simplest device, or almost.
The application drawer and the fixed icon bar are present. The Japanese manufacturer has just preinstalled some applications, including the famous Cinema Pro.
