Google Voice Search is a feature of Google that allows you to manage your calls through your Google account.
Google Voice Search offers a number of features, such as the ability to create a unique phone number that directs calls to multiple phones, even if each of those phones has a different phone number.
Google Voice Search also offers a variety of voicemail features and settings to block, filter or transfer the calls you want.
A Phone Number
With a Google Voice search account, you can designate that all calls go through a unique phone number. What this means is that if you have a cell phone, landline and office phone with different phone numbers, you can set up a unique phone number through Google Voice search that will make all the devices ring at the same time.
In addition to this, Google Voice Search allows the user to route calls from certain people to designated devices so that the user can route a person’s calls to all their phone numbers, while restricting calls to other specific phone numbers.
Google Voice Search is currently a service by invitation only, which means that in order to sign up for it, you must receive an invitation from another user, or have an invitation sent from the Google Voice website.
Once you have received your invitation and activated a number, you can adjust the Google Voice Search settings by clicking on the tool icon in the upper right corner of your browser, and navigate to Voice Settings.
From here, you can decide which phone number you want to use as your Google Voice phone number, as well as adjust the settings and preferences related to your Google Voice account. Once your Google Voice number has been established, each time someone calls that phone number.
When you do not answer a call, the caller will be given the option to leave a message in your Google Voice Mailbox.
You can check your voicemail at any time by either signing in to Google Voice from your computer or checking your voicemail or by calling your Google number. In addition, you can also disable the voicemail feature in the Voice Settings menu in Mail, if you want each phone number to use its own voicemail; as the voice mail service function of your cell phone.
However, the Google Voice voicemail service allows you to record different greetings for different contacts, so you can record a special greeting for a certain loved one.
- In addition to the above features, Google Voice also provides the ability to filter calls.
- This means that you can listen to a caller who is leaving a voice message, allowing you to choose either by answering the call in the middle of the message, or by returning the person’s call later.
- Voice messages are also stored automatically, and you can share them via the Internet with others.
- All this is possible thanks to the fact that voice mail messages are stored in an online database, similar to the way in which Google email is stored.
