Sometime after the start of sales, other powertrain options will appear. In particular, the company will offer customers a hybrid version of the model. It is possible that the appearance of an electric modification of the 2018 Audi A7 model year. Recall that these car developers are positioning as a sports four-door coupe.
If you look at the statistics, the predecessor of the car was not in great demand among buyers. The first generation of the model appeared in 2011.
Over the course of five years, approximately 66,500 cars were sold in Europe. In the North American market, this figure was only about 46,000 cars.
The new Audi A7 2018 was designed to correct this defect. For this, the developers tried to make the car as attractive as possible. Whether it turned out or not is up to you to judge.

Although the car was built on the basis of the MLB Evo “trolley” from the older brother of the Audi A8, it was significantly changed, depriving many functions. The new generation A7 will be sold with 4 versions of the suspension.
At the same time, the electromechanical option, which is the top one, is not available for this car.

Engines and Performance
The technical specifications of the 2018 Audi A7 suggest the use of gasoline and diesel power units, more detailed information about which will appear after a while.
As mentioned at the beginning of the review, immediately after entering the market, customers will be offered the Audi A7 55 TSFI Quattro S Tronic, equipped with a V-shaped “six” TFSI with a working volume of three liters, which develops 340 forces.
The maximum torque of this motor in peak reaches 500 Nm. The power unit is paired with a 7-speed S Tronic transmission and all-wheel drive.
Acceleration of this modification from 0 to 100 km / h lasts 5.2 seconds, and the “maximum speed” is 250 km / h (using an electronic limiter).
It is also known that the car is equipped with a “light” hybrid MHEV system. It includes a starter-generator and a compact Li-ion battery.
When driving at speeds from 55 to 160 km / h, the car can go “coasting” with the engine turned off, which saves 700 ml of fuel for every 100 km of travel.
In addition, the developers equipped the Audi A7 of the new generation with the Start / Stop function. The principle of the system is quite simple – the engine starts in automatic mode immediately after the car in front of you moves off.
In the future, the A7, as well as other Audi models, will receive the Audi AI autonomous piloting system, which takes on a significant part of the functions usually performed by the driver.
The complex will include such systems as Audi AI remote parking pilot, Audi AI remote garage pilot and Audi AI traffic jam pilot. Parking “autopilot”, for example, does not require the mandatory presence of a person at the wheel, i.e. the owner will be able to get out of the car and park it, controlling the process from a smartphone.
The operation of Audi AI systems is managed by the zFAS unit, which relies on the signals of many sensors and cameras.
All of them are already included in the top configurations of the Audi A7, it remains only to activate the necessary functionality. It will happen at the end of 2018, and the “seven” is equipped with the Car-to-X system, which provides communication with other cars, warning them of the presence of danger on the way and road signs.
True, such an exchange so far is made only between the rest of Audi, which are connected to the network and have a similar function. So the relevance of this feature is currently tending to zero.
